Adorned for Worship!

What is a garment? A garment can be defined as a covering, usually in reference to clothing worn over a body. As defined on Wikipedia: “Clothing is any item worn over the body. Typically clothing is made of fabrics or textiles, but over time it has included garments made from animal skin and other thin sheets of materials and natural products found in the environment, put together.” 

In the account of the “Fall” of mankind in The Garden of Eden (Genesis ch.3), Adam made for a garment a covering of fig leaves. You may be familiar with this aspect of the story. But I would like to present a perspective, you may not have looked into.

We will come back to this familiar story a bit further on, but for now I would like to take us to the priestly garments of Exodus 28:1-48, specifically 2-28; here we find a glimpse into the ordination of what the garments of the Priests of The Most High God specifically called for, there is never any coincidences with the Almighty. Some key words to point out here are; glory, beauty, and a spirit of wisdom, and to minister before Adonai Elohim (LORD God-YHWH). These are highly important as they are markers or signposts of a much bigger significance. Next we move to the four rows of three stones of the breastplate of JUDGEMENT. Each colored gemstone has a direct link to the twelve tribes of Israel, and a deeper prophetic meaning (see Jacobs blessing over his sons before his death Gen. 49).

The priests and the garments were then to be “Anointed” by Oil (symbolically representing The Holy Spirit of God).

So to encapsulate this whole scene we can state that God has ordained His Priests as “Anointed and Covered Ministers” before Him!

Now let’s look at another “Anointed and Covered” entity found in Ezekiel 28, starting in verse 12-15; KJV

12: Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13: Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering (*garment), the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14: Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15: Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (*added for clarity)

This beings “Garments” or coverings and character traits are strikingly similar to those ordained for the Aaronic Priesthood in Exodus with the exception of a few [3] stones (these can be studied further see above mention of Genesis 49 and are an AMAZING treasure).

If this being or entity was in fact that whom we call Lucifer, Satan-that Serpent of Old, the devil. His origins, beginnings and coverings are quite different from what we know of him in this day and age. The text declares that this being was in Eden the Garden of God. Now going back to Genesis where we began with Adam making fig leaves for a covering. Just prior to this event is where the two stories meet. The woman Eve meets this “serpent” or “Nachash” in Hebrew which can mean, dazzling and radiant (covering or garment or skin), as well as an enchanter (to hiss or whisper), as well as a serpent like being. No this was not just a snake!

So Lucifer in this radiant form seduced Eve, through cunning and craftiness to partake of the forbidden tree of “Knowledge” of good and evil. She then convinces Adam to eat as well. The FALL or the corruption of the “seed” of mankind is instant. The “sin” nature is in truthfulness the “corrupt” nature of the “nachash”. The Hebrew word “arum“: is defined as corrupt, cunning, crafty, and naked (exposed). We, mankind, are of a truth more like the serpent, in our fallen state then that which we were created for originally!

This is why We MUST be “Born again”. Restoration is part of the redemptive plan of salvation. (Romans 3:10-12, Ps 14:1-3)

Lets continue the story, The Lord God -Adonai Elohim- comes to fellowship in the garden and calls for Adam. Knowing what has unfolded and declares in summary nope fig leaves will never do. Genesis 3:21- “Unto Adam and also to his wife did the LORD God make “coats of skins, and clothed them. KJV

Just prior to the clothing of Adam and Eve God tells this serpent entity he would put an “enmity” between its seed and the woman’s seed. This word enmity in the original language is ay-baw and it means hostility, hatred. Why would this hatred arise and and why would it last through the millennia of time? 

Perhaps we can find this in the “garments” the skins that the LORD God himself clothed Adam and Eve with, we must remember dear friends, nothing is a coincidence and nothing takes El Shaddai by surprise. Perhaps God the Omniscient One knowing all along this would be the tactic of Lucifer and failure of mankind. God strips him of his “Anointed garments” no longer is he the “anointed cherub that covers” that led the heavenly host in worshipping The Creator of all things. But is sentenced to crawl on his belly and consume dust (man). While man is clothed with these garments or skins these “garments of praise“.

I would like to mention here that in the Book of Jasher that is states in chapter 7 that the garments God made for Adam and Eve were with Noah on the ark, stolen by Ham and eventually given to Nimrod (see Nimrod Rising).

I am convinced and is my belief and I humbly submit to you that God created man to replace Lucifer in His heavenly courts to surround or “Cover” his throne in eternal praise. So as God- YHWH continues to unfold His plan of salvation for man, from the garden through the Law of Moses with the ordinations of garments for the High Priest/Priests. Pointing to and symbolic of a much grandeur destiny. As the Apostle Paul states, the Old Testament is full of types, patterns, and shadows pointing to a much more perfect fulfillment in and through Christ. (Col. 2:17, Heb. 8:5, 10:1)

King David who was not of the Levitical Priesthood and lineage, altered the manner of worship established by Moses, in that he created a 24/7 manner of worship that was focused on the continuous worship of YHWH, worshipers praised continuously encircled around the Tabernacle of God, specifically -The Most Holy place- The Mercy seat God’s Throne on the earth where His Glory rested; for He inhabits the praises of His people. David removed the veil and the outer courts, it was an open Tent!

Also known as David’s Tabernacle. It is stated that David was a man after God’s own heart, perhaps this is a reflection as to why. Moses and the Israelites concealed God, David wanted Him Fully manifested. We find in the Book of revelation that the “fallen tent (Tabernacle) of David will be restored”. This tabernacle worship will be the Joy celebrated by every person who has ever called upon the Name that is above every Name, the Name of Jesus! For He is our salvation. We will surround or cover His Throne and He will be Our God forever and ever. [Revelations 21]

Our mourning, because of sin (corrupt nature), he has turned into “Garments of Praise”! Is.61:3

We will and have become Adorned for Worship.

These precious stones again are found listed as John describes the Bride who has made herself ready (Rev. 21:9). We that gladly choose to accept The Lords free gift of salvation are those precious stones (1Peter 2:5), and will be in His Glorious presence, pouring out the worship he justly deserves for All of Eternity. Rev. 19:1-8

From Genesis to Revelation, He makes the end known from the beginning! Who is like The Lord God? There is none like Him in All of Heaven or in all the earth. Our God Reigns! So Adorn yourself for Worship believe in The Son; The Lamb of God and give Praise to The King of Kings and The Lord of Lords.

Jesus we praise you, for you alone are worthy, and you have clothed us and have made us…
